At home in Waidhofen/Thaya
VTW is located in Waidhofen/Thaya in the Austrian Waldviertel, an area which is known for its excellent toolmakers, who are appreciated worldwide. In November 2019 we started with sales, engineering and project management for projects throughout Europe.
At the same time the planning for the new company building started. The ground-breaking ceremony took place in August 2020, and the construction phase was completed in April 2021 – in just nine months.
We focus on environmental sustainability
As a responsible and sustainably thinking company with headquarters in the middle of the beautiful Waldviertel, our environment is very important to us. When planning our processes and the company building, we have therefore placed great emphasis on energy efficiency and the use of existing clean resources. By using heat pumps combined with building core activation and heat recovery from our machines and processes, we can do completely without fossil fuels.
Since February 2022, almost 600 PV modules on our roof with a total output of 240 kWp have been generating around 20% of our energy requirements. The rest is covered by electricity from renewable energy sources. Electric vehicles are also part of our fleet.
One tree per cavity
Sustainability starts with a good idea: for every mold cavity delivered in the last financial year, VTW planted a tree – 1,000 in total.
On April 11, 2025, 16 VTW employees reforested an area of forest in Oedt an der Wild with a sustainable mixed culture, in collaboration with the organization waldsetzen.jetzt – giving something back to the forest, nature and future generations.

Sustainable solutions for our customers
Together with AFK Kunststoffverarbeitung, we processed the bio-based plastic PLA, obtained from corn starch, into mass-produced medical products. With a 4-cavity mold from VTW, syringe plungers are manufactured from PLA in a cycle time of around 8 seconds – the modular mold design can be scaled up to 36 or 72 cavities.
We support our customers in the technical design and implementation of such sustainable solutions – from the initial idea to series production.
